Dry Verge System Installation

Upgrade crumbling, high-maintenance mortar verges to a mechanically-fixed dry verge system. Dry verge gives you a secure, weather-tight, neat edge to the roof with no repointing— installed to comply with modern standards and compatible with most interlocking tile roofs

.

Why choose a dry verge?

  • Storm-secure: Mechanical fixings resist wind uplift better than mortar

  • Low maintenance: No cracking, no ongoing repointing

  • Weather-tight edges: Helps stop wind-driven rain at gable ends

  • Keeps pests out: Closes gaps that attract birds and wasps

  • Smart, consistent finish: Clean lines that match a dry ridge upgrade

  • Modern standards: Installed to meet current mechanical-fixing guidance (BS 5534)

What we install

  • Eaves/starter units for a tidy, sealed first course

  • Dry verge caps/units up each gable for full coverage

  • Batten end clips & fixings (stainless/galvanised) at correct centres

  • Verge closures & end caps for a clean termination at the ridge

  • Compatible options for concrete/clay interlocking tiles; solutions available for plain tiles/slate—we’ll specify the right kit for your roof

Our process

  1. Survey & advice — check tiles, exposure and specify the correct system

  2. Strip & prep — remove failed mortar where required; secure batten ends

  3. Install dry verge — starter units, verge caps and fixings set to spec

  4. Finish & tidy — matched ridge ends, clean lines, waste removed

  5. Handover — photos on request and 15-year workmanship guarantee if installed with new roof
